ABOUT ME: Name Now: Jennifer Fannon Place After graduating from PHS I attended college at VA Tech and graduated with a BS degree in Animal Science in 1990. While there I was a member of the collegiate Livestock and Horse Judging teams and the Block and Bridle Club. Upon graduation I worked for a year freelancing for various cattle farms preparing cattle for shows and sales. I then worked for a year as an outside sales rep for a printing company in Delaware. Then I went to work as a sales rep for a State Farm insurance agent for 2 1/2 years. In 1994 I married and went to work for State Farm Insurance as a Property and Casualty Claims Specialist. There I stayed until the birth of my daughter in 2002. At the end of my maturnity leave I resigned to stay home and raise my daughter. Both my husband and myself are very active in our church and the Walk To Emmaus community. WHERE I LIVE NOW: Salisbury, Maryland OTHER PLACES I'VE LIVED: Blacksburg, Virginia CURRENT INTERESTS: WORK/CAREER: Stay at home mother and wife HOBBIES: I LOVE to ski, although I don't have the opportunity to do it often. I also enjoy attending VA Tech football games, collecting VA Tech memoriabilia, gardening, reading, attending livestock shows, traveling, and attending antique tractor shows and pulls. I haven't done much recently but I still enjoy working with cattle and sheep and horseback riding. Living near the beach I also enjoy boating and relaxing on the beach. FAMILY: I met my husband Jeffrey in 1988 while we were both attending college at VA Tech. We both graduated in 1990 and we married in 1994. We have a 2 year old daughter, Julia. My parents still live and work on the family farm in Woodway. My sister Ann lives and works in Big Stone Gap. PETS: My only pet is an almost 15 year old female Chihuahua/Beagle mix named Moe that my husband adopted from the Roanoke SPCA while we were still in college. MEMORIES: I really enjoyed my classes and activities at PHS. Some of my best friends were Cindy Freeman (now Cindy Haw), Leanna Rasnic, Lisa Daugherty (now Lisa Carter), and Joie Duff (now Joie Cantrell). Some of my favorite teachers were Louise Howard, Allen Kinser, Jerry Myers, and Gary Perdue, but they were all great. One of my favorite things was working on the 84 and 85 editions of The Rock. |
