I graduated, with honors, in '89 with a bachelor's degree in music education. I began work in Grayson County, VA, got married in '92, and I've been there ever since. I was the assistant director for seven years, and became the director eight years ago. I'm pretty spoiled here, great family, nice place to live, and they take good care of the band program here. What's not to like? WHERE I LIVE NOW: Galax, VA OTHER PLACES I'VE LIVED: Johnson City, TN and Galax, VA CURRENT INTERESTS: WORK/CAREER: high/middle school band director HOBBIES: I play a little golf when I can. I enjoy fly fishing when I have time. I just recently got into radio controlled airplanes. It's something I always wanted to do growing up. I also enjoy working in and around the house. My biggest thrill is getting to play "dad" to Ross, you know, going to T-ball games, taking him fishing in a friend's trout pond, and teaching him how to do all the cool kid stuff that they learn from dad. FAMILY: My wife is Stephanie. We met while at ETSU. We've been married since January '92. We have one son, Evan "Ross". He was born in 1999, and just started Kindergarten this year. Mom, Dad, Sis(Sandra), and Steve are all doing well. Dad still lives in Pennington. Mom and Sis live in Johnson City, and Steve is married and lives in Roanoke. PETS: We have a cat named "Adam". Recently we took in a stray who was starving. She gave birth to five kittens, go figure. MEMORIES: Lots of good friends, high school crushes, watching and cheering my friend's and brother's ballgames. All the cool band trips. Remember, what happened on the bus, stays on the bus!
